Life is full of deep secrets. These secrets govern life; when not properly understood and applied, they can make life very difficult for anyone. Most of these secrets may seem to be very common, simple and basic, but their application ensures one’s success in life. It’s sad that many people know some of these secrets, but do not understand how to apply them.
In this book, we’ll briefly explore some of these many secrets and how they can be applied optimally by anyone, regardless of age, gender, social class or religion, in order to ensure a successful, healthy and happy life.

SECRET 1: OBEY UNIVERSAL LAWS
When there is a strong wind, the African masquerade tree bends to whichever direction the wind wants it to bend. The thick iroko tree in the forest resists and gets broken by the strong wind.

At creation, the Almighty Creator of the universe, permitted some laws to be in existence so as to have a seamless operation of the cosmos. The heavenly bodies operate according to the Laws of Nature. Our dear Earth revolves round the Sun in 365 days to give us a year, and must rotate on its axis at the speed of about 1,000 km/h to give us our day and night. It has obeyed this law for over 14 billion years, according to scientists.
There are several Universal Laws governing our existence on Earth. We obey some of these laws unknowingly and get the results. A generous man will reap the benefit associated with the Law of Giving and Receiving. If you resist sleep for days, you will pay dearly with your health. A diligent farmer or business man who wakes up early and focuses on his business of farming will reap the benefit of the Law of Sowing and Reaping, while the lazy man will suffer hunger and will start begging for food.

The Scripture says: Be not deceived… for whatever a man sows, he reaps. This is the Law of Sowing and Reaping in action. Other holy books such as the Vedas for HINDUISM, the Quran for ISLAM, the Agamas for JAINISM, the Tanakh and the Talmud for JUDAISM, explained the same thing, but in different forms.
The Law of Action says that you must take calculated action to achieve your target in life. Wishful thinking cannot generate success.
There are several other Universal Laws that control us without us knowing they exist. Some of these laws are:
- The Law of Gravity
- The Law of Sowing and Reaping
- The Law of Accumulation
- The Law of Polarity
- The Law of Giving and Receiving
- The Law of Action
- The Law of Correspondence
Some of these laws will be further explained in this book and subsequent books by the author.

SECRET 2: NO ONE WAS CREATED TO SUFFER
There is no beauty in sadness. No honour in suffering. No growth in fear. No relief in hate. It’s just a waste of perfectly good happiness.

No one may tell you this powerful secret, but it is true. In the original plan of our Creator, no one was created to suffer, but due to the activities of human beings on Earth, some people are greatly disadvantaged. This explains why most Africans shine like stars when they travel abroad.
No matter your situation in life, know that no one was originally created to suffer. Emphatically speaking, suffering is a result of economic maladjustment in any given society. Some government policies may cause suffering among the people.
At creation, God provided a garden for Adam and Eve to enjoy and also to manage. Please, as you read this piece, acknowledge that no one was created to suffer. Study what other people who are successful did before they became genuinely successful and do them. Success can be replicated; success can be predicted. SUCCESS IS NOT BY ACCIDENT.

SECRET 3: TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR YOUR LIFE – YOU ARE ON YOUR OWN (O.Y. O)

Their assistance is just an added advantage; you must sweat it out. Develop a skill that people need and they will pay for it. Take responsibility for your life.
Not everyone cares. You are on your own! This is a bitter truth/secret. At birth, you came into this world alone, and you must leave the world alone. This is a fact, and it is a truism for you to realize that you are on your own when you face certain challenges in life. SECRET 4: NOTHING COMES FROM NOTHING (EX NIHILO NIHIL FIT)
Success doesn’t come with ease. As a matter of fact, the darkest lie you may have been told is that you will reap in abundance when you have sowed nothing. It is a big lie.

In Mathematics, any figure you multiply by zero is zero. One of the secrets of the universe is that as a living being, if you do nothing to better your life over the years, you will reap nothing. Nothing goes for nothing. We are in a physical world and a lot of constants are in existence. We have several Laws of Physics that will give you the same results once the conditions are right. This is one of the deepest secrets of life.
The Latin expression: “ex nihilo nihil fit” tells us that nothing comes out of nothing. The law is very simple - if you have a farmland and you did not plant anything there, after one year, you will harvest nothing. Simple and short! If you give nature nothing, it will gladly give you nothing in return, no matter who you are or whichever race or religion you belong to.
Nature is not partial, and you are not expected to reap bountifully, if you have sown nothing. You reap what you sow, either in business or any other human endeavour. Sowing a seed is like when you embark on learning of skills that will generate good returns, in terms of salary or profit. Galatians 6:7 captures it succinctly.
Also, planning and investing in big ticket transactions can be compared to sowing of seeds, which will yield bountiful harvests. Whatever you do that will result in earnings is called sowing.
You cannot make good grades in the university if you have not prepared adequately. You cannot be great if you have not sown the seed of greatness. Nature gives you what you give to her.
REMEMBER: Sow/Invest today, so that you can reap tomorrow.
SECRET 5: THE MIND IS POWERFUL IT HAS CREATIVE AND DESTRUCTIVE ABILITY

What do you desire in life? One secret of life is: be very careful of whatever you desire, for you will have it in full. When you earnestly desire something and work for it, by the Law of Attraction, you may attract it into your life.
How is this possible? The universe gratifies what you so desire, if you earnestly desire it. If due to your level of exposure, you desire small things, you will surely get small things. This is the way it works. Think big, get big things.
When you desire small things, you condition your mind to think small, when big opportunities come your way, you tend to brush them off as not possible, because you are used to small things. All your efforts will be focused on the little things of life. You work a little and rest much, thereby generating small results. When you think big, your mind is conditioned to work extra hard to achieve those lofty objectives. By the Law of Attraction, you eventually attract them into your life.
I recently saw an advert for the sale of houses in Banana Island in Lagos, Nigeria, with price tags of over $5 million. Even though these houses are expensive in this part of the world, people still buy them. No one can deny you of the ability to think big; it is your fundamental human right. It is your inalienable right to have big dreams.
When you think big and mobilize resources to achieve big things, the universe comes to your assistance, and this is one of the closely guarded secrets of life. Proverb 22:29 – “seest thou a man diligent in his business? He shall stand before kings; he shall not stand before mean men”.
REMEMBER: Think big, desire big and put in so much sacrifice. The results will be mind-blowing.
SECRET 6: YOU CANNOT PLEASE THE WORLD
I can’t tell you the key to success, but the key to failure is trying to please everyone.

YouTube channels help to publicize videos and audio messages from several parts of the world, and Google is the owner of YouTube. From my little research on several uploads on YouTube, it is disheartening to note that no matter how interesting, educative and entertaining any presentation is, several viewers will still press the thumb-down button. It shows that no matter how good anyone is, some people will still dislike him/her. You cannot please the world.
No matter how decent you are, some people will still not like you. If you are doing well, some people will hate you; if you are not doing well, some people will still hate you. You cannot please the world. Past prophets and sages that had lived thousands of years ago were hated and even betrayed by people. However, no matter the enemies around you, as a child of God, you will still triumph.
It is the tree that has fruits that people throw stones at, more than the one without fruit. Consequently, handling people’s hatred and enmity will make you wiser and smarter. Again, it will make you adapt in handling opposition. Hatred by people is not enough reason for people not to excel.
REMEMBER: Not everyone will like you.
SECRET 7: MAKE A MOVE
Start where you are. Use what you have. Do what you can.

One of Newton’s Laws of Motion says that every object is at a state of rest or motion until a relevant force is applied to it. Have you been in a particular spot for several years? Remember Newton’s Law is applicable to humans. If you do not make efforts in certain directions of your life, you will remain in one position.
If wishes were horse, beggars will ride on them. Some people want to make it big in life. They want cars, houses, lovely families and all the good things of life, but they are not ready or willing to make the necessary sacrifices to achieve their heart’s desires. Consequently, they remain on the same spot, year in, year out, and then they start looking for who to blame in their villages!
A journey of 10,000 km starts with one step. Aspire to make the move to the next level of life and the universe will support you. What are your heart’s desires? Do you want to be a professional in your field of endeavour? Do you want to own a house? Make the necessary move today; stop waiting for the right time to make the move. What are you waiting for? Actualize your plans now.
REMEMBER: Action begets action. The universe loves action-oriented people. Are you one of them?
SECRET 8: THE WAY YOU PERCEIVE THINGS AFFECTS YOUR REACTION TO THEM
Life is all about perception. Positive versus negative. Whichever you choose will affect, and more than likely, reflect your outcomes.

Perception is stronger than reality. Events that occur around us are generally good or bad simply because of how we perceive them. Perception is all about your opinion or understanding (how you feel) about a particular event, situation or thing. It is about how you interpret and give meaning to things and events around you. What is good to you may be bad to another.
Psychologists have come to one obvious conclusion about human perception, which says: ‘if you change the way you look at a particular thing, that thing changes towards you’. If a spiritualist convinces a person that his/her spouse is irresponsible, that person’s perception about his/her spouse will be affected negatively.
If you buy a drug and believe that the drug will work in restoring your health, it will most likely be effective because of your perception about it. Believe and it will work for you. Life appears in any colour you perceive it to be.
If you perceive a colleague in the office as being bad, due to the gossip you heard about him/her, you will begin to notice bad qualities in him/her, which hitherto, you never noticed before. If you change your perception towards the person, positively, you will begin to notice the good qualities of the person. Meanwhile, the person did not change in any way.
Change how you view life, and life will be sweeter and more exciting, as you start to notice the beautiful things around you. People who commit suicide are known to have viewed life from the negative point of view for several years before finally putting their lives to an end.
REMEMBER: If you perceive life as being hard, you will experience it in a hard way.
SECRET 9: OPPORTUNITIES COME MORE THAN ONCE
When you live for many hundreds of years, you know that every opportunity will come again.

There is a popular saying that opportunity comes but once. This is one of the greatest lies of our generation. Opportunities in life will never end. However, our prayer is that one should discover them on time and partake in enjoying the benefits while still young and agile.
As long as there are human challenges, there must be opportunities. Humans have this unquenchable urge to communicate with one another. While growing up, we had pen pals that we chatted with, both locally and internationally.
However, social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc., came and disrupted the old system of penpals. Then GSM and handset manufacturers came to the rescue, making it easy for people to connect on these social media platforms. Now, over two billion people are on Facebook, chatting almost every day.
In Africa, availability of sufficient food is still a challenge. Anyone who solves this challenge will certainly smile to the bank.
Conclusively, as long as human wants and challenges exist on Earth, opportunities will never cease. Do you want to be a millionaire before the end of this year? Look for one human problem and solve it. People will pay for it. Several pastors and public speakers are very rich simply because they try to proffer solutions to human challenges – spiritual and psychological.
During festive seasons, some people indulge in over-eating and debauchery, thereby creating opportunities for doctors to make extra cool cash. Human behaviour has not changed in the last two thousand years. It will continue like that, thereby creating new opportunities for people.
REMEMBER: Opportunities never end, as long as human beings are alive on Earth.
SECRET 10: LIFE IS BOTH SPIRITUAL AND PHYSICAL
Man is lost and is wandering in a jungle where real values have no meaning. Real values can have meaning to man only when he steps on to the spiritual path, a path where negative emotions have no use.

The origin of life on Earth has been traced back to several centuries, and some philosophers will tell you that it can only be the spiritual that gave rise to the physical. Whatever the postulations of these sages are, we know for sure that man possesses a part, which is physical, and a greater part, which is spiritual. The spiritual gives birth to the physical.
We are in a physical world that we can feel. Consequently, we are buffeted by the wear and tear that the elements exert on the physical world. As humans, we have instinct for sleep, rest, love, hunger, tiredness etc. Again, every physical living thing grows old. The stress and strains of life affect all living things.
However, humans start having problems when they spiritualize everything, instead of handling the issues of life logically. No matter who you are, if you do not adequately prepare for examinations, you will not pass. Anyone who does not invest his or her resources wisely will not be rich. You must do your part as a human being.
No matter how spirit-filled you are, you must face the challenges of the physical world and definitely overcome with God on your side. People may fall ill because their cells require urgent replacement or repair, and not necessarily prayers and fasting. Some people believe that all illnesses are spiritual. Most Africans are guilty of this superstition. ‘Give to Caesar what is Caesar’s, and to God, what is God’s. Do not apply earthly principles on situations that demands spiritual principles; do not apply spiritual principles on situations that demands earthly principles.
REMEMBER: You are still a human being with flesh and blood.
